सूत उवाच । इममर्थं पुरा पृष्टो वासवेन बृहस्पतिः । यथा प्रोवाच विप्रेंद्रास्तद्वो वक्ष्यामि सांप्रतम्
sūta uvāca | imamarthaṃ purā pṛṣṭo vāsavena bṛhaspatiḥ | yathā provāca vipreṃdrāstadvo vakṣyāmi sāṃpratam
சூதன் கூறினான்—இந்தப் பொருளை முற்காலத்தில் வாசவனாகிய இந்திரன் பிரஹஸ்பதியிடம் கேட்டான். ஓ பிராமணச் சிறந்தோர்களே! அவர் சொன்னபடியே இப்போது உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.
