आसीत्पूर्वं द्विजो वीरशर्मनामातिविश्रुतः । वेदविद्याव्रतस्नातो वर्धमाने पुरोत्तमे
āsītpūrvaṃ dvijo vīraśarmanāmātiviśrutaḥ | vedavidyāvratasnāto vardhamāne purottame
முன்னொரு காலத்தில் வर्धமானம் எனும் சிறந்த நகரில் வீரசர்மன் என்ற மிகப் புகழ்பெற்ற இருபிறப்பன் வாழ்ந்தான்; வேதவித்யையிலும் விரதாசாரத்திலும் தேர்ந்தவன்.
