vaktumicchuḥ śailaputrīṃ sakhībhiriti coditaḥ | brahmanniyaṃ mahābhāgā gṛhītaniyamā śubhā

மலைமகளிடம் பேச விரும்பி, தோழியரின் தூண்டுதலால் அவனிடம் கூறப்பட்டது— “ஓ பிராமணரே! இந்த மகாபாக்யவதி, மங்களமயமான தேவி நியம விரதத்தை ஏற்றுள்ளார்.”
