கௌதமர் கோரஜம் (பசு தூள்) கொண்டு ஆன லிங்கத்தை வழிபடுகிறார்; அதன் பெயர் ‘கோபதி’—மாடுகளின் அதிபதி. வானப்ரஸ்தர்கள் பழமயமான லிங்கத்தை வழிபடுகின்றனர்; அது ‘விருக்ஷாவ்ருத’—மரங்களால் சூழப்பட்டவன்—என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
