कर्मणा येन केशाः स्युः स्निग्धाः कुसुमवर्षिणः । नाकारि कर्णवेधोस्य जनित्रा समये शुभे
karmaṇā yena keśāḥ syuḥ snigdhāḥ kusumavarṣiṇaḥ | nākāri karṇavedhosya janitrā samaye śubhe
எந்த ஸம்ஸ்காரத்தால் தலைமுடி பளபளப்பாகவும் மலர்வர்ஷி (அழகு-சௌபாக்கியம் தருவதாகவும்) ஆகுமோ, அந்தக் குழந்தையின் கர்ணவேதமும் பெற்றோர் உரிய சுப நேரத்தில் செய்யவில்லை।
