पूर्वकल्पे नृपश्रेष्ठ क्रीडन्त्या परमेष्ठिना । उमया सह रुद्रस्य क्रीडतश्चार्णवीकृतः
pūrvakalpe nṛpaśreṣṭha krīḍantyā parameṣṭhinā | umayā saha rudrasya krīḍataścārṇavīkṛtaḥ
அரசர்களில் சிறந்தவனே! முன்னொரு கல்பத்தில் பரமேஷ்வரன் உமையுடன் விளையாடியபோது, ருத்ரனின் அந்த லீலையால் உலகம் கடல்பரப்புபோல் விரிந்ததென ஆனது.
