श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । शृण्वन्तु ऋषयः सर्वे त्वं च तात युधिष्ठिर । पुराणं नर्मदायां तु कथितं च त्रिशूलिना
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | śṛṇvantu ṛṣayaḥ sarve tvaṃ ca tāta yudhiṣṭhira | purāṇaṃ narmadāyāṃ tu kathitaṃ ca triśūlinā
ஸ்ரீ மார்க்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அனைத்து ரிஷிகளும் கேளுங்கள்; நீயும், அன்பு யுதிஷ்டிரா. நர்மதையின் கரையில் திரிசூலதாரி (சிவன்) இந்தப் புராணத்தை உரைத்தான்।
