समु प्र यन्ति धीतयः सर्गासोऽवताँ इव । क्रतुं नः सोम जीवसे वि वो मदे धारया चमसाँ इव विवक्षसे ॥

Transliteration

samú pra yánti dhītáyaḥ sárgāso’vatā́m iva | krátuṃ naḥ soma jīváse ví vo máde dhāráyā camasā́m iva vivákṣase ||

Translation

கூடிய தீதிகள் முன்னே செல்கின்றன; உயரத்திலிருந்து இறங்கும் வேகமான ஓடைகள் போல. ஓ சோமா! எங்கள் வாழ்விற்காக எங்களுள் க்ரது (சுயவிழிப்பான சங்கல்ப-சக்தி) நிலைபெறச் செய்; உன் மதத்தில் அதை ஊற்றி, எங்களுள் வளரச் செய்— யாகத்திற்காக சாமசங்களில் பானம் ஊற்றுவது போல.
