अभ्यद्रवन्त देवांस्ते सहस्नाणि दशैव हि । ततस्तैरदिता देवा: शरणं वासवं ययु:

Transliteration

abhyadravant devāṁs te sahasrāṇi daśaiva hi | tatas tair aditā devāḥ śaraṇaṁ vāsavaṁ yayuḥ ||

Translation

அவர்கள்—எண்ணிக்கையில் பத்தாயிரம்—தேவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்தனர்; அவர்களால் துன்புறுத்தப்பட்ட தேவர்கள் ஓடிச் சென்று வாசவனாகிய இந்திரனிடம் சரணடைந்தனர்.
