Sukta 8
अत्रैनानिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नुग्रो मर्मणि विध्य । अत्रैवैनानभि तिष्ठेन्द्र मेद्य१हं तव । अनु त्वेन्द्रा रभामहे स्याम सुमतौ तव
átra enān indra vṛtrahan ugró mármaṇi vidhya | átra evá enān abhí tiṣṭhendra medhyò ’háṃ táva | ánu tvéndrā́ rabhāmahe syā́ma sumatáu táva
Here, O Indra, Vṛtra-slayer, fierce one, pierce these in the vital spot. Here, even here, stand thou over these, O Indra: I, made meet for sacrifice, am thine. Following after thee, O Indra, we lay hold upon thee; may we abide in thy good favour.
இங்கேயே, ஓ இந்திரா, வ்ருத்ரஹன், உக்கிரனே! இவற்றை மర్మ-ஸ்தானத்தில் குத்திப் பிளந்து விடு. இங்கேயே, இதே இடத்தில், ஓ இந்திரா, இவற்றின் மேல் அதிஷ்டித்து நின்றருள்; நான் யாகத்திற்குத் தகுதியானவன் (மேத்ய) ஆகி உன்னுடையவன். ஓ இந்திரா, உன்னைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து நாங்கள் உன்னைப் பற்றிக் கொள்கிறோம்; உன் சுமதி (நல்ல அருள்) யில் நாங்கள் நிலைத்திருப்போமாக.
