Agni
Tirtha: Vahnitīrtha
Type: kund
Scene: Agni, personified, petitions Brahmā: ‘Let this sacred reservoir on earth be famed by my name—known as Vahnitīrtha.’
A tīrtha becomes a bridge to merit when sanctified by divine association and remembered through sacred naming.
Vahnitīrtha—“the ford/sacred bathing place of Agni,” a holy reservoir established in this chapter.
No direct rite is prescribed here; the verse establishes the tīrtha’s name and sanctity.
