The Vision of the Pushpaka and Lanka’s Jewel-like Mansions
कृताश्च वैडूर्यमया विहङ्गाः रूप्यप्रवालैश्च तथा विहङ्गाः।चित्राश्च नानावसुभिर्भुजङ्गाः जात्यानुरूपास्तुरगाः शुभाङ्गाः।।5.7.12।।
kṛtāś ca vaiḍūrya-mayā vihaṅgāḥ rūpya-pravālaiś ca tathā vihaṅgāḥ | citrāś ca nānā-vasubhir bhujaṅgāḥ jātyānurūpās turagāḥ śubhāṅgāḥ ||
वैडूर्यमयाः कृताः विहङ्गाः, रूप्यप्रवालमयाश्च तथैव विहङ्गाः। नानावसुभिश्च चित्रा भुजङ्गाः, जात्यानुरूपाः शुभाङ्गास्तुरगाश्च।
Inside were birds made of vaidurya, silver and corals. There were colourful serpents made of various gems, and high-class horses of exquisite limbs drawn.
The verse supports the dharmic lesson of discernment: outward magnificence can be manufactured; righteousness depends on inner truth and purpose, not ornament.
Hanumān observes the ornate, jewel-crafted figures and designs within the splendid setting he is traversing.
Discernment (viveka) and focus—he notes details without losing direction.
