भरतवाक्यं—रामस्य पुनरायोध्यागमननिषेधः
Bharata’s Plea and Rama’s Refusal to Return
अथैतत्पृष्ठतः कृत्वा वनमेव भवानितः।गमिष्यति गमिष्यामि भवता सार्धमप्यहम्।।।।
athaitat pṛṣṭhataḥ kṛtvā vanam eva bhavān itaḥ | gamiṣyati gamiṣyāmi bhavatā sārdham apy aham ||
एतत्सर्वं पृष्ठतः कृत्वा यदि भवानितो वनमेव गमिष्यति। तर्हि अहमपि भवता सार्धं वनं गमिष्यामि न संशयः।।
If you turn your back on my solicitations and set out for the forest I shall also go along with you from here itself.
Dharma is portrayed as solidarity in righteousness: Bharata refuses comfort purchased at the cost of Rama’s suffering and aligns himself with Rama’s chosen path.
Bharata issues a final, dramatic commitment—if Rama will not return, Bharata will join him in exile.
