This verse functions as an enumerative record of named groups and descendants; in the Moksha-Dharma stream it preserves traditional lineage-memory (smṛti) that supports dharma through continuity of sacred history.
It does not teach bhakti directly; instead it supplies the narrative framework (who belongs to which line) within which later teachings on devotion, vows, and liberation are situated.
Primarily Nirukta-style onomastic attention (proper names and group-names) and Itihasa-Purana anukrama (systematic listing); it is not a direct instruction on ritual, grammar, or astrology in this specific verse.
