यन्नाम्बुपूर्वकं क्षिप्तमनर्थोकृतमेव च ।

त्यक्तुमाविष्कृतं यत् तु दत्तं चैवातिविस्मयात् ॥

yan nāmbu-pūrvakaṃ kṣiptam anartho-kṛtam eva ca |

tyaktum āviṣkṛtaṃ yat tu dattaṃ caivāti-vismayāt ||

यच्चादौ जलं न दत्त्वा परित्यज्यते, यच्च निष्फलं निरर्थकं च क्रियते; यच्च केवलं प्रदर्शनार्थं कृत्वा परित्यज्यते; यच्चात्यद्भुतवेगेन दत्तं—तत्सर्वमपि तुभ्यं ददामि।
