एतानि तव पुष्ट्यर्थमन्यच्चापि ददामि ते ।

अश्रद्धया हुतं दत्तमस्नातैर्यदवज्ञया ॥

aśraddhayā hutaṃ dattam asnātair yad avajñayā ||

एतानि ते पोषणार्थं ददामि; अपरं च ददामि—यदग्नौ हुतं वा दानं वा श्रद्धाविहीनं, यच्चास्नातेनावज्ञाभावेन समर्पितं, तत्सर्वं तुभ्यं भवति।

Acts of worship and charity require śraddhā (reverent intent) and basic ritual propriety; when performed with contempt or impurity, they fail to yield the intended dharmic merit and are portrayed as feeding lower forces (here, a Yakṣa).
