अलिङ्ग-लिङ्ग-निरूपणं तथा प्राकृत-सृष्टिवर्णनम्
अण्डं दशगुणेनैव वारिणा प्रावृतं बहिः आपो दशगुणेनैव तद्बाह्यस्तेजसा वृताः
aṇḍaṃ daśaguṇenaiva vāriṇā prāvṛtaṃ bahiḥ āpo daśaguṇenaiva tadbāhyastejasā vṛtāḥ

It situates the manifest universe (brahmāṇḍa) within successive elemental coverings, encouraging the devotee to see the Liṅga as the sign of Pati (Śiva) who transcends all such layers and is approached through inner worship beyond the outer cosmos.
By detailing the finite enclosure of the cosmos, the verse implicitly points to Śiva-tattva as that which is not enclosed—Pati, the supreme reality beyond water, fire, and all elemental strata, from whom the ordered manifestation proceeds.
A contemplative practice aligned with Pāśupata-style inward turning: meditate on the universe as layered and limited, then withdraw attention from the elements toward the Liṅga within the heart—seeking the unbounded Pati beyond Pāśa (bondage).
