Sukta 4
अनपत्यमल्पपशुं वशा कृणोति पूरुषम्। ब्राह्मणैश्च याचितामथैनां निप्रियायते
anapatyám alpapáśuṁ vaśā́ kṛṇóti pū́ruṣam | brāhmaṇáiś ca yācitā́m áthainā́ṁ nipriyā́yate ||
Childless, scant of cattle, the vāśā maketh a man—(even) when demanded by the Brahmans; and then toward her he waxeth ill-affected (and refuseth).
वशा पुरुषम् अनपत्यं अल्पपशुं च करोति। ब्राह्मणैः याचिताम् अपि, अथ एनां प्रति सः निप्रियायते (अप्रियभावं गच्छति) न च प्रयच्छति।
