FAQs

It imparts Vyākaraṇa-vidyā: a technical glossary mapping specific Sanskrit elements (e.g., ṇo, niś, taś, bha, tha, do) to their accepted semantic functions (extraction, certainty, thief/boar’s tail, eating, cutting, holding/beauty).

Beyond ritual and theology, the Agni Purana preserves compact linguistic reference material—like a mini lexicon of grammatical/semantic assignments—supporting correct reading, interpretation, and composition across disciplines.

By enabling accurate understanding and recitation of Sanskrit, it supports śāstra-pramāṇa (scriptural correctness); correct comprehension and utterance are traditionally linked with preserving dharma and avoiding errors in study and ritual speech.
