Transliteration

purā devayuge rājā kaliṃgonāma dānavaḥ | jarāmaraṇahīnosau devānāṃ ca bhayaṃkaraḥ

Translation

В древнюю эпоху богов был царь-данава по имени Калинга. Свободный от старости и смерти, он стал ужасом даже для богов.
