पाशुपतव्रतविधिः | The Procedure of the Supreme Pāśupata Vow
विन्यस्याग्नौ च सम्प्रोक्ष्य दिने तस्मिन्हविष्यभुक् । प्रभाते तु चतुर्दश्यां कृत्वा सर्वं पुरोदितम्
vinyasyāgnau ca samprokṣya dine tasminhaviṣyabhuk | prabhāte tu caturdaśyāṃ kṛtvā sarvaṃ puroditam
Должным образом возложив подношения в священный огонь и очистив их окроплением, в тот день он должен вкушать лишь предписанную жертвенную пищу (havisya). Затем, утром четырнадцатого лунного дня (caturdaśī), исполнив всё ранее сказанное, он должен продолжить обряд надлежащим образом.

The verse outlines preparatory conduct for a formal Shaiva rite—purification, homa-related acts, and regulated diet—supporting Saguna Shiva worship where the devotee approaches Shiva through consecrated actions, offerings, and observances performed with purity.
A vrata-style preparation: perform sprinkling purification (prokṣaṇa), offer properly into the sacred fire (homa where applicable), keep a haviṣya-only diet, and complete the previously prescribed steps on caturdaśī—ideally accompanied by japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
