Type: kshetra
Listener: (Implied) audience of the māhātmya; within story: the sage addressed by the woman
Scene: A noble woman, astonished at her own saubhāgya, respectfully questions a sage about deeds from a former birth; the setting evokes a sacred coastal tīrtha atmosphere of Prabhāsa.
Present blessings are portrayed as fruits of prior actions; Purāṇic dharma links fortune (saubhāgya) to karma shaped across lives.
The teaching is embedded in the Prabhāsa-kṣetra māhātmya, where sacred place and dharma narratives interweave.
No explicit rite appears; the verse introduces karmic causality behind auspicious outcomes.
