eṣa trailokyarakṣārthaṃ śoṣayāmi mahārṇavam | drakṣyadhvaṃ kautukaṃ devāḥ samīnamakarairmahat

«Para a proteção dos três mundos, agora secarei o grande oceano. Contemplai, ó Devas, esta maravilha—vasta, repleta de peixes e de makaras, monstros marinhos.»
