सा गृहीत्वा सती भर्तुर्भस्म सर्वं चितेस्तथा । प्रविष्टा सागरं देवि तदा जांबवती शुभा
sā gṛhītvā satī bharturbhasma sarvaṃ citestathā | praviṣṭā sāgaraṃ devi tadā jāṃbavatī śubhā
Aquela mulher virtuosa, tomando todas as cinzas de seu esposo e também as da pira funerária, entrou no oceano, ó Deusa; então tornou-se a auspiciosa Jāmbavatī (rio).
