एष यज्ञोपवीताढ्यो विशेषात्तपसि स्थितः । छलेन निहतः शक्र तेन त्वं पापसंयुतः
eṣa yajñopavītāḍhyo viśeṣāttapasi sthitaḥ | chalena nihataḥ śakra tena tvaṃ pāpasaṃyutaḥ
«Mas este estava adornado com o yajnopavīta, o cordão sagrado, e firmemente estabelecido, de modo especial, na austeridade. Foi morto por engano, ó Śakra; por isso estás agora unido ao pecado.»
