शाण्डिल्युवाच । नासुरीं न च गन्धर्वीं न पिशाचीं न राक्षसीम् । पतिव्रतां तु मां सर्वे जानन्तु तपसि स्थिताम्
śāṇḍilyuvāca | nāsurīṃ na ca gandharvīṃ na piśācīṃ na rākṣasīm | pativratāṃ tu māṃ sarve jānantu tapasi sthitām
Śāṇḍilī disse: «Sabei todos que não sou asurī, nem gandharvī, nem piśācī, nem rākṣasī. Reconhecei-me como esposa devotada, firme no tapas (austeridade).»
