ततः प्रोवाच भगवान्यमः संयमनो महान् । शृणु वाक्यमतो ब्रह्मन्यमोऽहं सर्वजन्तुषु
tataḥ provāca bhagavānyamaḥ saṃyamano mahān | śṛṇu vākyamato brahmanyamo'haṃ sarvajantuṣu
Então falou o venerável Yama, o grande Senhor do Autocontrole: «Ó brāhmaṇa, ouve minhas palavras: entre todos os seres, eu sou Yama, o regulador ordenado».
