पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
शिवो भवो हरश्चैव मृडश्चैव तथापरः । शिवस्याज्ञां पुरस्कृत्य मंगलं प्रदिशंतु मे
śivo bhavo haraścaiva mṛḍaścaiva tathāparaḥ | śivasyājñāṃ puraskṛtya maṃgalaṃ pradiśaṃtu me
Que Śiva—conhecido como Bhava, Hara e também Mṛḍa—junto com as demais formas divinas, pondo em primeiro lugar o comando de Śiva, me conceda auspiciosidade.
Suta Goswami (narrating within the Vāyavīya discourse to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: शिवो भवो हरश्चैव मृडश्चैव तथापरः । शिवस्याज्ञां पुरस्कृत्य मंगलं प्रदिशंतु मे
Type: stotra
It invokes Śiva through multiple sacred epithets—Bhava (ground of being), Hara (remover of impurity), and Mṛḍa (gracious Lord)—affirming that auspiciousness (maṅgala) arises when one aligns with Śiva’s ājñā, the divine order that liberates the soul from pāśa (bondage).
The verse approaches Śiva through named forms and functions, which is Saguna devotion; such epithets are commonly contemplated while worshiping the Śiva-liṅga, where the one Pati is adored through many accessible names while remaining ultimately transcendent.
Use japa and contemplation of Śiva’s names (Śiva–Bhava–Hara–Mṛḍa) with the intent of following Śiva’s ājñā; this pairs naturally with Pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and a simple prayer for maṅgala before daily worship.
