Ó Kṛṣṇa, ainda que alguém seja de nascimento mais baixo, ou degradado, ou ignorante, ou mesmo caído—se tomou refúgio em Śiva, torna-se digno de veneração por todos os devas e até pelos asuras.
Suta Goswami (narrating Śiva’s doctrine as taught in the Vāyavīya section)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Role: liberating
It proclaims that Śiva-bhakti and śaraṇāgati (taking refuge in Pati, the Lord) purify and elevate the soul beyond prior sin, ignorance, or social status—making the devotee spiritually venerable.
Taking refuge in Śiva is commonly expressed through Saguna upāsanā such as Liṅga-pūjā; the verse stresses that sincere surrender—not birth or past—qualifies one for Śiva’s grace.
Practice śaraṇāgati through daily Śiva-nāma japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and simple Liṅga-pūjā with devotion, as the core transformative act is surrender.
