समयाह्वय-संस्कारः — Rite of ‘Samayāhvaya’ and the Preparatory Layout

नाड्या यथोक्तया वायुं रेचयेन्मंत्रतो गुरुः । निर्गम्य प्रविशेन्नाड्या शिष्यस्य हृदयं तथा
nāḍyā yathoktayā vāyuṃ recayenmaṃtrato guruḥ | nirgamya praviśennāḍyā śiṣyasya hṛdayaṃ tathā
Então o Guru, por meio do mantra, deve expelir o vāyu, o sopro vital (prāṇa), pela nāḍī conforme foi ensinado; e, tendo saído, deve igualmente entrar pela nāḍī no coração do discípulo.

It describes a subtle, mantra-guided yogic transmission in which the Guru directs prāṇa through nāḍīs and establishes spiritual awakening in the disciple’s heart—symbolizing the descent of Śiva’s grace (anugraha) mediated through the Guru.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, outer worship of the Liṅga is complemented by inner worship in the heart (hṛdaya). This verse points to that interiorization: mantra and prāṇa lead awareness to the heart-lotus where Saguna Shiva is contemplated, preparing the seeker for realization of Shiva as the supreme Pati.
A mantra-based prāṇāyāma and nāḍī-focused meditation used in dīkṣā-style guidance: regulated exhalation (recaka) with mantra, followed by inward placement of awareness in the heart. It implies disciplined, guru-directed practice rather than casual self-experimentation.
