Determination of Flower-Offerings to Śiva
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the ritual standards of Śiva-worship to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Offering: pushpa
It emphasizes niyama (disciplined observance) in Śiva-pūjā: devotion is strengthened when offerings are made with order, purity, and measured intention, aligning the worshipper (paśu) toward the Lord (Pati).
The verse belongs to practical instructions for saguna-upāsanā—worship of Śiva through the liṅga with specific offerings. In Śaiva Siddhānta, correct external worship supports inner purification and steadies the mind for grace (anugraha).
A takeaway is to follow prescribed standards in flower offerings during liṅga-pūjā; combine this with steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) so the outer measure supports inner concentration.
