अदैवं तद्विजानीयात् पार्वणं पर्वसु स्मृतम् पार्वणं त्रिविधं प्रोक्तं शृणु तावन्महीपते //
adaivaṃ tadvijānīyāt pārvaṇaṃ parvasu smṛtam pārvaṇaṃ trividhaṃ proktaṃ śṛṇu tāvanmahīpate //
Sabe que isto é ‘a-daiva’, isto é, não oferecido aos deuses. O rito chamado ‘pārvaṇa’ é lembrado como aquele realizado nos dias de parva (dias de junção/transição). Declara-se que o pārvaṇa é de três tipos—ouve, ó rei.
