तमाराध्य जगन्नाथं प्रणिपत्य पितामहः । पप्रच्छ योगतत्त्वं मे ब्रूहि चाष्टाङ्गसंयुतम् ॥३॥

IAST Transliteration

tam ārādhya jagannāthaṃ praṇipatya pitāmahaḥ | papraccha yogatattvaṃ me brūhi cāṣṭāṅgasaṃyutam ||3||

Translation

ਉਸ ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਤਾਮਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ: ‘ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯੋਗ-ਤੱਤਵ ਦੱਸੋ, ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਟਾਂਗਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰੋ।’

Academic Translation

HavingīHaving worshipped that Lord of the world and having bowed down, Pitāmaha (Brahmā) asked: ‘Tell me the principle of Yoga, together with the eight limbs.’
