विष्णुर्नाम महायोगी महाभूतो महातपाः । तत्त्वमार्गे यथा दीपो दृश्यते पुरुषोत्तमः ॥२॥

विष्णुः । नाम । महा-योगी । महा-भूतः । महा-तपाः । तत्त्व-मार्गे । यथा । दीपः । दृश्यते । पुरुष-उत्तमः ॥२॥

IAST Transliteration

viṣṇur nāma mahāyogī mahābhūto mahātapāḥ | tattvamārge yathā dīpo dṛśyate puruṣottamaḥ ||2||

Translation

ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ ਮਹਾਯੋਗੀ, ਮਹਾਭੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਤਪਸਵੀ ਹੈ; ਤੱਤਵ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ੋਤਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀਪਕ ਵਾਂਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

Academic Translation

Viṣṇu, indeed, is the great yogin, the great being, the great ascetic; on the path of truth the Supreme Person is seen like a lamp.
