असंपादयतो नार्थं प्रतिज्ञातं ममायुषा । कलुषेणार्थिना माशापूरकेण सखेधुना
asaṃpādayato nārthaṃ pratijñātaṃ mamāyuṣā | kaluṣeṇārthinā māśāpūrakeṇa sakhedhunā
ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਸਮ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਵਚਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਵੇ—ਇਸ ਮਲਿਨ ਅਰਥੀ, ਇਸ ਆਸ-ਪੂਰਕ, ਇਸ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਣ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
