बर्बरीकशिरश्चैव गिरिशृंगमवाप्य तत् । देहस्य भूमिसंस्काराश्चाभवच्छिरसो नहि । ततो युद्धं महदभूत्कुरुपांडवसेनयोः
barbarīkaśiraścaiva giriśṛṃgamavāpya tat | dehasya bhūmisaṃskārāścābhavacchiraso nahi | tato yuddhaṃ mahadabhūtkurupāṃḍavasenayoḥ
ਬਬਰਿਕ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ। ਦੇਹ ਲਈ ਧਰਤੀ-ਸੰਸਕਾਰ (ਦਫ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਕਰਮ) ਹੋਏ, ਪਰ ਸਿਰ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਫਿਰ ਕੁਰੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੈਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਯੁੱਧ ਛਿੜ ਗਿਆ।
