भरद्वाजाश्रमात् चित्रकूटमार्गनिर्देशः
Directions from Bharadvaja’s Hermitage to Chitrakuta
यामिमां भगवन् दीनां शोकानशनकर्शिताम्। पितुर्हि महिषीं देवीं देवतामिव पश्यसि।।2.92.20।। एषा तं पुरषव्याघ्रं सिंहविक्रान्तगामिनम्। कौसल्या सुषुवे रामं धातारमदितिर्यथा।।2.92.21।।
yām imāṃ bhagavan dīnāṃ śokānaśana-karśitām | pituḥ hi mahiṣīṃ devīṃ devatām iva paśyasi || 2.92.20 ||
eṣā taṃ puruṣa-vyāghraṃ siṃha-vikrānta-gāminam | kausalyā suṣuve rāmaṃ dhātāram aditir yathā || 2.92.21 ||
“ਭਗਵਨ, ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨੀ, ਸ਼ੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਵਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋਈ, ਦੇਵੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਦਿੱਖ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਹਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਪਟਰਾਣੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਕੌਸਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਘ, ਸਿੰਹ ਵਰਗੀ ਵਿਕਰਮ-ਚਾਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ—ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਦਿਤੀ ਨੇ ਧਾਤਾ ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।”
O venerable sage, this queen you are looking at, forlorn and emaciated due to grief and fasting, and who resembles a goddess is Kausalya, the principal queen of my father. As Aditi bore Dhata, she bore Rama, the best among men who walks with the powerful stride of a lion.
