Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the Moon’s phases as sacred, named kalās—suggesting that time (kāla) and its lunar measures are not merely astronomical, but ritually meaningful units used to align human practice with cosmic order.
Indirectly: by clarifying lunar divisions used to time vratas and pūjā, it supports disciplined devotional observances that are traditionally scheduled by tithi and lunar increase/decrease—key to steady Vishnu-bhakti practices.
Jyotiṣa (Vedāṅga astrology/astronomy): the verse preserves technical nomenclature for the Moon’s kalās, useful for calendrics—tithi-based ritual timing, vrata observance, and muhūrta considerations.
