उप स्तृणीहि प्रथय पुरस्ताद् घृतेन पात्रमभि घारयैतत्। वाश्रेवोस्रा तरुणं स्तनस्युमिमं देवासो अभिहिङ्कृणोत

IAST Transliteration

upá stṛṇīhi pratháya purástād ghṛténa pā́tram abhí ghārayaitát | vāśrévosrā́ tarúṇaṃ stanasyúm imáṃ devāso abhí híṅkṛṇota

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Draw near and strew; spread it broad in front: with ghee pour over this vessel. As ruddy cows with lowing call to the young calf eager for the teat—so, O Gods, acclaim and urge this here with your ‘hiṅ’ cry.

Translation

ਨੇੜੇ ਆਓ; ਵਿਛਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੌੜਾ ਫੈਲਾਓ। ਘੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਭਿਘਾਰਣ (ਘੀ ਢਾਲਣਾ) ਕਰੋ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾਲੀ-ਛਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਾਂਵਾਂ ਰੰਭਾਹਟ ਨਾਲ ਥਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਾਵਲੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ—ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਦੇਵੋ, ‘ਹਿਙ’ ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਭਿਹਿਙਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰੋ।
