Transliteration

jātaḥ skandaḥ suraśreṣṭhastārako yena sūditaḥ | patitenaiva liṃgena yasmāccaiva kṛtasmaraḥ

Translation

ଏହି ପବିତ୍ର ଘଟଣାରୁ ଦେବଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ସ୍କନ୍ଦ ଜନ୍ମ ନେଲେ, ଯାହାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତାରକ ନିହତ ହେଲା; ଏବଂ ଲିଙ୍ଗ ପତନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ହିଁ କାମଦେବ ପୁନଃ ସ୍ମରଣ-ଶକ୍ତି ପାଇ ‘କୃତସ୍ମର’ ହେଲେ, ତେଣୁ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ‘କୃତସ୍ମର’ ନାମେ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ହେଲା।
