maṃkīnāma ṛṣiḥ pūrvamāsītsa tapatāṃ varaḥ | sa ca jñātvā mahākṣetraṃ prabhāsaṃ śaṃkarapriyam

ପୂର୍ବେ ମଂକୀ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଋଷି ଥିଲେ, ତପସ୍ବୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ; ଏବଂ ସେ ପ୍ରଭାସକୁ ଶଙ୍କରପ୍ରିୟ ମହାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ବୋଲି ଜାଣି।
