गीतां पठंति कृष्णाग्रे कार्तिकं सकलं द्विजाः । एकभक्तेन नक्तेन तथैवायाचितेन च

ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କାର୍ତ୍ତିକ ମାସ ଦ୍ୱିଜମାନେ ଶ୍ରୀକୃଷ୍ଣଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଗୀତା ପାଠ କରନ୍ତି; ଏକଭକ୍ତ (ଦିନେ ଏକଥର), ନକ୍ତ (ରାତିରେ ଭୋଜନ) ଓ ନ ମାଗି ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଅନ୍ନରେ ଜୀବନ ଧାରଣ କରନ୍ତି।

Kārtika is a dharma-month where devotion to Kṛṣṇa, scripture-recitation, and restraint in food become powerful means of purification.
