viśākhovāca | na śīlaṃ na kulaṃ yasya nāsti pāpakṛtaṃ bhayam | tasya strīhanane sādhvyo jñāyate janma karma ca | hīnasya puruṣārthena tena saṃgo nirarthakaḥ
Viśākhā
Tirtha: Dvārakā
Type: kshetra
Listener: sādhvyaḥ (virtuous women) / Uddhava as contextual addressee in the episode
Scene: A circle of anguished, virtuous women speaking with moral severity, condemning a man devoid of conduct; the sea-breeze of Dvārakā and distant temple silhouettes frame their lament.
The verse uses dharma categories (śīla, kula, fear of sin) to voice the pain of abandonment; it shows how moral language can be invoked amid intense devotion and grief.
Dvārakā-māhātmya provides the sacred frame, linking the dialogue to the holiness of Dvārakā even when the verse is primarily ethical.
None; it is moral evaluation within a narrative exchange.
