devā ūcuḥ | namaste devadeveśi namaste kāṃcanaprabhe | namaste padmapatrākṣi namaste jagadambike
Devāḥ (the Gods)
Tirtha: Arbuda-kṣetra (Devī-stuti)
Type: kshetra
Listener: King
Scene: The devas stand with folded hands, faces uplifted, chanting ‘namas te’ to the golden-splendored, lotus-eyed Mother; the Devī’s aura fills the space like sunrise.
Recognizing the Goddess as the universal Mother and supreme refuge is central to Purāṇic bhakti.
The hymn appears within the Arbuda-khaṇḍa narrative set in the Arbuda sacred region.
Stuti—verbal worship through salutations and divine epithets—is the practice exemplified.
