FAQs

It affirms Śiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who governs creation, preservation, and dissolution, and as Triguṇeśa who rules the guṇas that bind beings; surrender to Him is presented as the bhakti-rooted doorway to liberation.

By praising Śiva’s cosmic functions and lordship over the guṇas, the verse supports Saguna worship—adoring Śiva with attributes—commonly centered on the Śivaliṅga as the accessible form through which devotees approach the transcendent Pati.

The practical takeaway is japa and namaskāra: repeat salutations (namo namaḥ) with steady devotion—ideally alongside pañcākṣarī-japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) before the liṅga, cultivating humility and surrender.
