नाके सुपर्णमुप यत् पतन्तं हृदा वेनन्तो अभ्यचक्षत त्वा । हिरण्यपक्षं वरुणस्य दूतं यमस्य यो नौ शकुनं भुरण्युम्

IAST Transliteration

nā́ke supárṇam úpa yát pátantaṁ hṛdā́ vénanto abhy àcakṣata tvā́ | híraṇyapakṣaṁ váruṇasya dūtáṁ yámasya yó no śakúnaṁ bhuraṇyúm

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

When in the heavenly vault they marked thee, the fair-winged, flying near—discerning with the heart—they beheld thee: the golden-winged, Varuṇa’s messenger, Yama’s, who for us art omen-bird, swift-roaming.

Translation

ନାକେ (ଆକାଶ-ଗୁମ୍ବଜରେ) ତୁମକୁ—ସୁପର୍ଣ, ସୁନ୍ଦର ପକ୍ଷବାନ—ଉପରେ ନିକଟରେ ଉଡ଼ୁଥିବାବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ଚିହ୍ନିଲେ; ହୃଦୟରେ ବିବେକ କରି ସେମାନେ ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଲେ। ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ-ପକ୍ଷବାନ, ବରୁଣଙ୍କ ଦୂତ, ଯମଙ୍କ—ଆମ ପାଇଁ ଶକୁନ-ପକ୍ଷୀ, ଦ୍ରୁତ ଭ୍ରମଣକାରୀ ତୁମେ ଅଟ।
