भरतोनाम राजाऽभूदाग्नीध्रः प्रथितः क्षितौ । यस्येदं भारतं वर्षं नाम्ना लोकेषु गीयते
bharatonāma rājā'bhūdāgnīdhraḥ prathitaḥ kṣitau | yasyedaṃ bhārataṃ varṣaṃ nāmnā lokeṣu gīyate
‘ဘာရတ’ ဟူသော ဘုရင်တစ်ပါး ရှိခဲ့၏။ သူသည် အာဂ္နီဓြ မျိုးနွယ်ဝင်ဖြစ်၍ ကမ္ဘာမြေပေါ်တွင် ထင်ရှားကျော်ကြား၏။ သူ့နာမကြောင့် ဤမြေဒေသကို လောကတို့တွင် ‘ဘာရတဝရ္ෂ’ ဟု ချီးကျူးခေါ်ဝေါ်ကြသည်။
