Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvijas/sages (द्विजसत्तमाः)
Scene: Sūta addresses the assembled dvijas, dispelling doubt; the kṣetra is portrayed with an aura of timelessness—light suffusing the land, suggesting it is ‘ever-renewed’ and beyond decay.
A true tīrtha is described as akṣaya—its sanctity does not decline; faithful listening to the tradition dispels doubt and deepens devotion.
The kṣetra being narrated in the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya stream of the Nāgara Khaṇḍa, praised as imperishable (akṣaya).
Śravaṇa (devout listening) is urged—“listen, O best of the twice-born”—as the immediate practice for receiving the māhātmya.
