Narrator (ministers speaking within the narration)
Scene: Royal court: worried ministers approach Vasiṣṭha seated in calm austerity; the king appears distressed in the background; sacred fire and ritual implements indicate purohita status.
In crisis, dharma turns to enlightened counsel; the purohita guides rulers toward righteous and sacred solutions.
Not yet named in this verse; the counsel will point to Sārasvata Tīrtha in Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra.
An ‘upāya’ (remedial means) is requested; the specific rite (tīrtha-snāna) is given later.
