Tirtha: Viśvāmitreśvara
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim bathes in the sacred waters and then worships the supreme liṅga called Viśvāmitreśvara; the shrine glows, suggesting the path to Śiva’s abode.
Pilgrimage becomes complete when joined with devotion: snāna (purification) and liṅga-pūjā (worship) together lead one toward Śiva’s highest refuge.
The Viśvāmitreśvara tīrtha and its ‘uttama liṅga’ in Nāgarakhaṇḍa, Tīrthamāhātmya, Adhyāya 44.
